India registered 40,953 new COVID-19 cases in one day, representing the highest single-day increase in 111 days, with the national COVID-19 tally standing at 1,15,55,284, as per the Union Health Ministry data updated on Saturday.
With a rise noted for the tenth consecutive day, the active caseload stood at 2,88,394, constituting 2.49% of the total infections. The recovery rate has come down to 96.12%, revealed the data. The country recorded more than one lakh cases in mere three days. Friday saw the addition of 39,726 new cases while 35,871 cases were recorded on Thursday.
